WHO THIS IS FOR
This is a unique adventure into the heart of the Mentawai Islands in Indonesia, one for the adventurous and the curious.
Together, throughout the 10 days, we explore some of the most iconic and uncrowded waves in the world! With over 40 waves to choose from, we won’t be short of epic options!
After our days out in the ocean, we head back to Pitstop Hill, our home for the retreat, hidden in the trees and with a wave on our doorstep. We’ll enjoy fresh, hearty food, workshops on facing fear in the ocean, surf analysis sessions and restorative yoga to find balance.
For our rest day we adventure into the jungle, to visit an indigenous community called the Sikerei Shaman - a unique trip into another world away from the surf.

Meet one of your guides, Mikaela! Mikaela has spent heaps of time surfing and guiding in Indonesia. Mikaela’s aim is to support you in the water, whether that’s facing fear, sharing excitement, or guiding you to the best waves on offer.

Every day on the retreat has its own natural flow. We don’t run on fixed surf times everything is based on the conditions and the local knowledge of Pitstop’s expert surf guides. If the surf is on, we stay out longer. If it shifts, we move. There’s complete flexibility to surf as much or as little as you like.
You’re also welcome to grab your board and paddle out the front whenever you feel called the wave is right there on our doorstep.
Meals are taken care of throughout the day, with nourishing breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus plenty of snacks to keep you fuelled between surfs.
In the evenings, we slow things down. Expect sunset sessions, a drink or two, surf analysis, and relaxing yoga to unwind and reset for the next day.
On our rest day, we’ll take a journey by boat through the jungle to visit a local Indigenous community a grounding, cultural experience and a beautiful way to connect with the land and people of the Mentawais. -

All our surf bungalows are shared between 3 or 4 people. All bungalows have private air conditioning, fans and a balcony to relax on whilst in-between surf sessions and meals.
if you have any preference in room please let us know and we’ll try our best to honour your request. However, depending on bookings and room availability, we may not always be able to guarantee your first choice but we’ll always try our best to make it work for you. -

50% of your payment serves as a non-refundable deposit.
If a medical reason or emergency arises and you need to withdraw before 4/09/26 we will refund the remaining balance (excluding the 50% non-refundable deposit).
From your start date onward, no refunds can be issued and the full amount becomes non-refundable.
If you are unable to attend after this time, you are welcome to transfer or sell your spot to someone else who would like to take your place. This must be organised by you, but please keep us updated throughout the process.

You’ll fly into Padang Airport, where you may need to stay overnight before heading to the Mentawais. We recommend Hotel Santika, we’ve stayed there several times ourselves when travelling to the Ments and it’s comfortable, convenient, and reliable.
From Padang, you’ll travel by Pitstop Hills’ private luxury speedboat, straight through to Pitstop. It’s an epic way to arrive in the playgrounds area a stunning journey by sea (trust us, we’ve done the 7-hour local ferry before… this is much better!).
All return transfers are included, whether that’s airport to hotel, airport to Padang ferry terminal, or hotel to ferry terminal so you won’t need to worry about logistics at all.
Closer to the retreat, we’ll connect everyone in the group so you can meet and hang out with anyone else staying in Padang the night before.
