I have fused together my background in health with my passion for yoga, meditation, nutrition and wellness. The two aspects of health combined are very powerful and allow me to truely look at individuals health holistically
My connection with yoga grew deeper in 2020, I experienced serious burn out working as a nurse in the emmegecy department, In New Zealand. I found balance and solace from yoga when my mind and body was experiencing extreme strain. This was the focal point in my practice, where yoga for me had evolved from strengthening me physically, to a form of expression that allows me to; connect with my true self, find space and build strength within. It has guided me to navigate life with purpose and to find more joy and less stress. This lead me to finally becoming 200- hour certified during the pandemic, in New Zealand.
English born and raised, I’ve been living in New Zealand for 4 years, moving to Fiji in 2022. My life here in Fiji and my career has come to the point now where I have been able to launch my own business. I have fused together my background in Nursing and my passion for yoga, meditation, nutrition and wellness. The two combined are very powerful and allow me to truely look at an individuals health holistically. I can now offer private yoga to individuals, groups, schools and business, both in person or online. I can also offer an entire wellness project for business’s programme,. By teaching people tools that are already within them to guide them through life’s stresses and enable them to take control of their health with movement, nutrition and knowledge on their physical and mental and emotional health is my goal.
When I’m not teaching I’ll be surfing with my partner, making jewellery, reading, gardening or catching up with friends. To live so closely with nature has been a dream of mine since being a child, since I’ve always lived in cities, I’m really feeling the true connection and power of being surrounded by nature, living in Fiji.
Hello I’m Rachel
I’ve been practicing yoga for around 6 years, as well as working as a registered nurse for 10 years. Recalling the memory vividly the first time I practiced yoga. The cloud like feeling that hugged onto my body softly, throughout the class and for the rest of the day. I reflected to myself, “I see why this is an ancient tradition, these people are really onto something here”! Yoga has been part of my life ever since!
